About

Islands of No is a long-form fictional and visual project unfolding across print, sculpture, narrative, and book arts. It presents a constructed world shaped by folklore, ritual, and imagined histories, where fragments of story and object function as artifacts from an unstable, invented culture.

At the center of this world is Frank, a drifter moving through a chain of islands known as The Birds. Each island carries its own internal logic, symbols, and histories, forming a loose geography of violence, survival, solitude, and dark humor. Rather than presenting a single linear narrative, Islands of No operates as an archive—maps, warnings, relics, and scenes that suggest a larger story through accumulation and repetition.

This site serves as a growing collection of original artwork, hand-made books, and short fiction drawn from this world. Visitors are invited to encounter fragments, follow recurring motifs, and piece together meaning across formats and timelines.

Land Acknowledgment

ISLANDS OF NO is created on the traditional territory of the Cayuse, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Á,LEṈENEȻ ȽTE (W̱SÁNEĆ) and Lekwungen/Songhees people.

About Me

Jimmo (he/him) is a multidisciplinary artist and writer working across print, sculpture, narrative, and book arts. His practice is anchored in the ongoing world of Islands of No, a long-form fictional and visual landscape where folklore, ritual, and constructed myth intersect with contemporary concerns around power, survival, and memory. Through screen prints, hand-made books, mixed media works, sculptural objects, and short fiction, he develops recurring symbols and characters that move between story and artifact.

His work often treats objects as evidence from an imagined culture—maps, masks, warnings, and relics—inviting viewers to encounter fragments of a larger, unstable narrative. Based in the Pacific Northwest, Jimmo’s practice bridges storytelling and material experimentation, with a focus on building coherent fictional systems that unfold across multiple formats and timelines.
